Dr. Katherine Minton at Minton Learning helps students with specific learning disabilities, ADHD and learning differences, including dyslexia and dyscalculia
As an educational diagnostician, learning disabilities specialist and consultant, I work with students in Portland, Oregon and other communities in Oregon and Washington. We provide comprehensive educational diagnostic assessments for public and private school students and for home school families. Assessments are provided for all ages, including college students who require up-to-date documentation for classroom accommodations or for licensing exams.
We now also provide remote educational diagnostic assessments for students who live in areas of the U.S. that lack access to these professional services. Comprehensive assessments are also provided remotely for American expat families living internationally. I’m happy to discuss your student’s needs by telephone, email or videoconference. To learn more about our remote services, please see Remote Consultations.
Who benefits from these assessment services?
Many students have been told that all of their struggles with school success are because of ADHD and/or Dyslexia. These common labels sometimes result from an assessment that isn’t comprehensive enough. There can be many reasons why a student is a poor reader or has difficulty following directions or sitting still. Unfortunately, not all possible contributing causes of the learning problems have been uncovered and ways to truly help the student are still not fully clear.
Are you frustrated that you haven’t found a learning disabilities specialist or other professional who sees the whole picture beyond labels?
Does your student need a different kind of help than what you have found so far?
Do you believe that your child may be gifted and also experiencing an unknown difficulty that is interfering with classroom success?
Are you a homeschooling family and feel that one of your children may need additional help to be a happier and more successful learner?
Has your private school suggested that your student would benefit from a full educational diagnostic assessment? Is there a reduced availability of testing services in your public school?
Has your child been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, or Dyscalculia but you’re still looking for more information and more choices about how to help your bright child do well academically?
